Susan Hochmiller
|
|
Soprano Susan Hochmiller recently completed her Doctor of Musical Arts in Voice Performance and Literature at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. She received her Master of Music from the Eastman School of Music in 2005 and her Bachelor of Music from Susquehanna University in 2003, both in Voice Performance.
Dr. Hochmiller is a versatile artist with performance experience in opera, chamber music, art song, oratorio, musical theater, and jazz. Additionally, she has received numerous awards and scholarships for musical and academic excellence, including First-Place recognition at National Association of Teachers of Singing competitions. Distinguished teachers have included Constance Haas, Joan Boytim, and Jeffrey Fahnestock.
With six years of experience teaching voice to students of varying ages and musical interests, Dr. Hochmiller focuses on providing her students with the necessary tools to be successful in all musical endeavors. Her extensive studies in vocal pedagogy, coupled with her performing experience, enable her to build and strengthen a healthy technique while cultivating artistry and important musicianship skills. Students may participate in sight-singing, singing in foreign languages, and exploring a wide range of repertoire, according to their interests.
Dr. Hochmiller also offers flute and piano lessons.
