Michael Popovsky

Mr. Popovsky holds a BA in Music and Business from Franklin and Marshall College ('07) with a focus in vocal performance and general theory. He studied voice with Lorraine Ernest and Gweynne Geyer while at F&M and conducting and theory with John Carbon, William Wright and Brian Norcross. Currently Mr. Popovsky studies voice with John Darrenkamp at the Pa Academy of Music and with Dr. Thomas Houser. He is an avid performer as well, having performed at Opera Seabrook (NJ), Opera Naples (FL), The Fulton Theatre (PA), Opera Lancaster (PA) and EPAC (PA) to name of a few.

He is the owner and operator of Popovsky Studios, a voice studio in East Petersburg. Through out college he ran and directed various music groups and pieces such as an a cappella choir, pieces for the Chamber Singer Ensemble, the '05 Broadway Revue production, the pit orchestra for the production of Urinetown in 2007. Mr. Popovsky has also been a performer in all those groups and has done solo performances at the request of the athletic department, music department and President's office. He was the runner up in the 2007 Spring Sing Competition as well and holds the Nolt Award for Musical Excellence (’07).
