Mike Haid - Drum Instructor (Beginner to Advanced)
Mike Haid is a drumming veteran of stage and studio in many musical styles and enjoys a successful career that spans over three decades as a professional drummer and instructor.
Mike began his professional drumming career in KY at age 18, touring the United States for several years before relocating to Los Angeles. He is a graduate of the world-renowned Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA and has taught drumming for many years as a private instructor. Mike taught drum lessons full-time at Bellflower Music in Los Angeles for 8 years before relocating to Atlanta, GA.
As a skilled session drummer and composer, Mike has won awards from the prestigious Billboard Songwriters Contest. He was the first drummer featured in the New Blood column of DRUM! Magazine, and appears regularly in Modern Drummer Magazine as a contributing writer, photographer and player.
While living in Atlanta for 18 years, Mike performed on countless recordings as a session drummer, and has played publicly and privately in every imaginable live performance situation in many musical styles. From Jazz, Metal, Rock, Oldies, Blues, Latin, Funk, Country Western, Gospel, Contemporary Christian, Jam Band, Prog/Fusion, and solid in-the-pocket Pop grooves, Mike earned A-List status as a seasoned first-call drummer on the Atlanta music scene for nearly 20 years.
In 2008 and 2009, Mike performed in Europe with international drumming superstars Bill Bruford (YES, King Crimson, Genesis), Horacio “El Negro” Hernandez, Jojo Mayer and Marco Minnemann (Joe Satriani) at the JEUNESSES MUSICALES Percussion Camp as a clinician and guest speaker. Mike was invited to the 2011 Croatia International Drum Camp to teach with Grammy-winning drummer Antonio Sanchez (Chick Corea, Pat Metheny) and Virgil Donati (Steve Vai, Mick Jagger).
Mike relocated to Ohio in 2013 and is accepting a limited number of students @ Moeller Music in West Chester, OH.
