Heather Pfeiffer
|
|
A Cincinnati native, Heather Pfeiffer has enjoyed music since she was a little girl. She was already in demand during her undergraduate years, regularly performing as a soloist at Masses, in front of corporate boards at special events, at prestigious fundraisers, and in an orchestral setting with the Cincinnati Metropolitan Orchestra. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music (Vocal Concentration) from Mount St. Joseph University, earning Summa cum Laude honors and the Departmental Award for her hard work. She is also a lifetime member of the Alpha Chi Honor Society.
Heather has studied with faculty from both Mount St. Joseph University and the College-Conservatory of Music (University of Cincinnati) and continues to hone her skills. Performance credits include the College-Conservatory of Music (University of Cincinnati), the Cincinnati Early Music Festival, the Legatus Society of Cincinnati, TriHealth, Mercy Franciscan at Winton Woods, and Hartzell United Methodist. Heather recently sang at the National Association of Pastoral Musicians Conference and has also appeared in shows with Sunset Players, The Drama Workshop, Cincinnati Landmark Productions, Roundabout Opera for Kids: Cincinnati, Queen City Opera, Bart’s Bards, and Fortnight Productions.

- As a well-rounded individual, Heather is uniquely equipped to make analogies in her teaching—everyone learns differently! She has knowledge of various learning styles and has attended NafMe, Orff, and Choral workshops.
- She offers Beginner through Intermediate Piano and all levels of Voice Instruction (please note that no voice students are accepted that are UNDER age 12) and hopes to help her students reach their full potential!
- Heather’s teaching philosophy is that one should teach not just an instrument, but music. Each student will be taught basics of music theory as needed at their individual level. In addition, stylistic elements that bring the music to life (legato, dynamics, staccato, etc.) are emphasized!
- For voice lessons, a strong understanding of the vocal mechanism and its healthy use is at the core of her teaching philosophy. So many singers permanently damage their voices trying to achieve a particular sound! Heather wants to help students discover their own unique voice in a healthy manner so they can keep singing for years to come.
- Finally and most importantly, a musician should enjoy what they are doing! Heather wants her students to take pleasure in their progress and their repertoire. Music without joy is not music at all.
