Ben Young is a guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, composer, and instructor based in Lancaster, PA. He has studied guitar with Mark Ryan, Matt Davis, Trey Alexander, and Marcia Englar, and composition with Andrea Clearfield and Norman David. He has attended the Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Arts, the University of the Arts, and is currently pursuing a Music Business degree at Millersville University. Young's points of emphasis in his guitar program include technique, theory, ear training/musicianship, improvisation, and composition. He strives for a comprehensive approach to making music rather than simply focus on guitaristic tendencies and applications. He teaches in several styles, including rock, jazz, blues, and metal. Professionally, Young performs in many different ensembles, including solo and duo acoustic settings, jazz combos, wedding bands, big bands, original rock combos, and as a pit musician for various productions. He has won scholarship to the Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Arts and has also won a Presidential Scholarship.
