At the age of twelve Mrs. Smith studied locally under Harold Malsh. Later she studied under Mehle Mehta (Zubin Mehta’s father) at the New School of Music, Curtis Institute in Philadelphia. As a young student she played with several state youth orchestras and attended Music Camp at Carnegie Mellon Institute in Pittsburgh.
Mrs. Smith has played for social events, congregational and synagogue liturgy, contemporary church music groups, missions, Handel’s Messiah for Kid’s Sake and pit orchestras. She has provided studio lessons and currently co-ordinates “Jerusalem Song” an outreach Messianic Song and Dance Troupe. Mrs. Smith actively plays an electric violin with her home church worship band.
Having studied audio recording Mrs. Smith understands the complexities of today music recording industry. She keeps an active hand in today’s recording industry by attending song writing seminars and leadership training. She has given her artistic touch to recordings and continues to encourage recording artists in their creative endeavors. She is familiar with current music writing software and strives to meet the challenges of teaching both classical and contemporary violin instruction.
Music has been a life long passion for Mrs. Smith. Sentiment for beauty of creation, the Creator and that which is unseen is expressed through her violin.
