My name is Robert Falcón, my journey as a musician/guitarist began when my father put a Gibson J45 in my hands and bought me a Conn cornet at the age of 10. Shortly after that I formed a neighborhood rock band and played at block parties and birthday celebrations. I became a proud band geek, and fell in love with making music. I formally studied music education and trumpet minor, attending South Texas University for three years. I have played both trumpet and guitar in numerous ensembles and solo settings. I have managed successful music stores and for the past 20 years taught countless students to play the guitar. If there is one thing I have learned in my 40 years of playing the guitar, it is this. The guitar is easy to play poorly, and a challenge to play well. It is most certainly almost impossible to master. But, it is certainly one of the most rewarding journeys I have embarked on. Picking up my guitar and playing a familiar tune with my friends or working on a difficult etude, is such a rewarding way to relieve stress and have fun. The great paradox is that nothing will make playing guitar more fun than putting in the time practicing the un-fun stuff. My students learn the fundamentals of music, including reading notation and music theory. As well as guitar playing techniques, then continue with a style they like. Learn to play songs like, “Classical Gas”, “Hotel California”, “Here Comes the Sun”, “Fire and Rain”, “The Boxer”, “ Bron-Y-Aur Stomp”, “Wish You Were Here”, and many more.
