I have been teaching private woodwind lessons for 6 years - my students have been very successful in Solo & Ensemble Festivals, as well as All Honors Band auditions, with several students placing first chair. All students are asked to complete listening assignments. Listening to professional musicians is crucial to developing good intepretive skills. Also, my students also have the option of advanced Theory Studies or Jazz Studies if they are interested.
I make music lessons fun and interesting for students, while also challenging students to be the best musicians possible. Music is fun, and lessons should be fun too!
I have a Bachelors of Music in Saxophone Performance from Towson University, and while there I studied gradute level repertoire. I have performed in rock bands, ska bands, wedding bands, jazz bands and pit orchestras, and love them all for the different aspects they contribute to music.
