Phil Menges
|
|
Mr. Menges is a graduate of Western Maryland College where he earned a B.A. in Music Education. He has been teaching for 38 years and has played in local rock, jazz, and dance bands for the last 40 years. Mr. Menges teaches a variety of styles of guitar, bass, piano, keyboard, and accordian to both children and adults. Many of his students have gone on to study music in college or play in local bands. He is also the pianist and guitarist at his church.
"I believe that teaching the basic fundamentals of reading , rhythm, technique, theory, and ear training are most important. However, I try to tailor the lessons toward each student's special interest.(Ex. Rock, jazz, classical, blues, pop, country, etc.) This makes lessons much more fun and encourages more practice by the student."
