Providing instruction for Beginning and Advanced musicians on Guitar and Bass, through a uniquely developed program since 1998, Shawn shares his passion, fun and many musical influences with his students. Born in Miami, Florida, he began playing at seven years old influenced by the musicians at his church and went on to studies of Folk, Classical, Flamenco Jazz and Rock styles with teachers throughout the country. Accepted to the Berkley School of Music, after his studies, he gained recognition as a local session musician, songwriter, engineer and producer touring throughout the East Coast and Midwest.
He has had the privilege of working with local and internationally known artists as a musician, songwriter and technical consultant and his work has been featured on radio, TV as well as Nationally for his song “Freedom” dedicated to the 9-11 tragedy.
Shawn’s unique teaching method quickly empowers students to be able to explore their own musical goals and develop their confidence through performance. His goal is to make music, specifically through guitar, a fun, positive and lifelong experience for his students and those they share their music with.
