Marissa LaBant
|
|
After completing her Masters Degree in flute performance from New York University, flutist Marissa LaBant has recently relocated to the Central Pennsylvania area. Ms. LaBant received her Bachelors Degree in flute performance from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University and has studied with some of the world’s finest flutists. In the past, she has participated in numerous PMEA festivals ranging from District Band and Orchestra to placing first in All-State Band. She has also attended and performed in such prestigious music festivals as The Aspen Music Festival, The Penns Woods Music Festival, The Geneva International Masterclass Series and, the Jazzmatazz Festival in Genoa Italy as part of NYU study abroad.
Ms. LaBant enjoys sharing the joys of music with people of all ages, taking an independent approach with each pupil. With over 8 years of teaching experience and 19 in playing, students of all levels are accepted. Students should come to their first lesson with any pieces, etudes or method books they may be presently working on (if applicable), their flute and, a smile.
