Mr. Mitts graduated from West Virginia University with honors as a piano major with a music education degree. He studied piano with Dr. James Miltenberger and woodwinds with Dr. Randy Missemore. Mr. Mitts has been teaching instrumental music for the past 24 years with the ELCO and Harrisburg School Districts. A past high-school band director for both ELCO and Harrisburg, he now directs the Harrisburg elementary & middle school bands. As a Pianist, Larry emphasizes correct technique and fingering. A firm foundation with excellent tone and fluid arm movement is essential to to all piano performance. Mr. Mitts is also very successful with all beginning wind players - as he works with over 100 beginners each year in the Harrisburg School District. As flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, and trombone players approach an advanced level, he will help find a suitable professional musician to continue your student's progress.
